9:40AM – I wake up and immediately go to Twitter (now known as X) and see a post from Pop Crave that informs me Taylor Swift, one of my all time favorite artists, has regained the rights to her full masters. This essentially means she has regained full ownership of her full discography that includes her first 6 albums. I only give it a like as I have been more intentional with the kind of content I put on my X account. X already has a pretty deep analysis of the kind of content that catches my attention, but this will probably cause more Swiftie content to show up on my timeline.

11:21AM – I was driving with my friends while scrolling and proceeded to like and repost a TikTok from the candidate for Arizona’s 7th Congressional District Deja Foxx because I really resonated with her background and believed she is a really good communicator. She also happens to mostly represent what I hope is the future for the political party I most associate, The Democrats. Most of my timeline on TikTok has involved more political themes, especially me sharing with my friends posts about what I want them to be informed on. Around this time I noticed my For You Page doesn’t really show much regarding styles I might like, or aesthetics I might enjoy. It’s most oriented to political and pop culture content.

3:20PM – I started a series of posts on my Instagram story as this day was also the beginning of a weekend at Glenwood Springs with my best friends. From 2:30 till 5:30 I was at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs and posted a few pictures of me at the place. In this instance I gave more information than I usually do with providing my exact location, who I was with, and the activity I was participating in. This could push Instagram to show more content geared towards vacation themes, summer aesthetics, as well as offers from other hot springs in Colorado. This was mostly the rest of the media I participated in after 7PM.

9:37PM – Around this time me and my friends began to watch TV with Shrek 3 being the film we watched on the hotel TV. This I don’t believe really affects any of my algorithms as it was on a TV I don’t usually use and was not connected to any of my streaming apps.
This was a more relaxed day of media for me particularly because I was on vacation, but it still provided me with lots of insight into my habits. X seems to be my app that I open when I wake up, almost like my daily news. I do read articles on my Apple News app but X seems to be my go-to. I have also been trying to post my thoughts more on X and BlueSky, which has translated to me posting more on my Instagram to share more of my life with my close friends. My instagram is private so I don’t have to worry a lot about prying eyes, but TikTok and X are where algorithms have shifted more to suit my interests. I don’t seem to share much private information except my state and my first name on my X account, but not much else. I have also limited the kind of information all the social platforms use for my timeline, especially when it comes to ads and private information. I also seem to have any data sharing permissions turned off for all my social media since the brief time TikTok was banned. What I also noticed is that I am not as intentional with my posts as I thought I was so I am going to take a look at my activity to make my account more aligned with my career goals.
